Tetracore Energy Group provides integrated energy solutions, specializing in natural gas distribution, power generation, and the development of CNG, LNG and new energy infrastructures across West Africa’s energy landscape.

Company History and Expertise

Tetracore is an integrated Nigerian energy company with a growing gas and power portfolio that supports energy access, industrialization, and local content development within Africa’s biggest economy, with a growing footprint across Africa. Its focus is on delivering clean, cost-effective, and sustainable energy solutions for power, commercial, and industrial sectors.

Via its various investments, Tetracore targets the penetration of cleaner fuels for power, industries, and households, thereby displacing expensive and polluting sources such as diesel, petrol, charcoal, and wood. Since its establishment in 2021 the company has quickly imposed itself as a strategic player and developed a natural gas distribution capacity currently exceeding 70 MMscf/d, as well as contractual supply volumes exceeding 90 MMscf/d.

The company focuses on projects that have a deep impact on industrialization and energy access in Africa. It notably has a long-term contract to supply over 40 MMscf/d of gas to the Rongtai Industrial Park in Edo State and 60 MMscf/d of natural gas to NDPHC (Niger Delta Power Holding Company) to support 34% of electricity generation to the Nigerian grid. As an energy service company, Tetracore will provide up to 50MW of power solutions to the Kano Electricity Distribution Company to address energy supply and unlock the renewable energy potential within the Kano franchise area in Northern Nigeria.

Current Projects and Future Strategy

Tetracore’s expertise in gas distribution and power generation is now positioning it as a key driver of the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) market, aligning with Nigeria's ambitions to monetize its vast natural gas resources.

In mid-2024, it commissioned a state-of-the-art CNG facility in Ogun State, with an initial capacity of 3.1 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscf/d), expandable to 6.2 MMscf/d. This facility is strategically located to enhance gas availability along Nigeria's Western-Southern corridor, home to some of the country's largest industrial clusters.

As part of Tetracore's gas utilization initiative and support to the expansion of Nigeria’s CNG supply-chain, Tetracore has introduced state-of-the-art Mobile Refilling Units strategically positioned nationwide. The Mobile Refilling Units have the capacity to supply 400,000 standard cubic meters (SCM) and can support Nigerian industries, with a supply deal signed with Dangote Cement at the start of 2025 for instance. This innovative solution ensures accessibility and reliability, providing seamless support for Auto CNG users in logistics and transportation operations.

In addition to CNG, Tetracore is developing on the same site a modular Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) facility with a planned capacity of 10 MMscf/d. This project aims to diversify the company's energy offerings and contribute to Nigeria's energy independence by providing an environmentally friendly energy source for various applications, including transportation and power generation.

Looking ahead, Tetracore aims to double its CNG facility capacity and expand its reach across the African continent, including Ghana and Equatorial Guinea. The company's focus on sustainability and innovation, coupled with its strategic investments in gas infrastructure, positions it well to play a crucial role in Nigeria's energy transition and the broader African energy market. As Tetracore expands, it remains focused on its goal of becoming a leading energy solutions provider in Africa.
